about
Another outtake from "Straight," this is a throwaway that's one of my most fun songs to play live, with or without a band. I can and have gotten quite carried-away with it. It's so silly, and so basic, and no, I wasn't thinking of Tom Petty's "Breakdown" when I wrote it, but I've found myself slipping into that when I play it live.
It's about several different real people, women AND men, sorta blended into one crazy, irresistible lover. I don't think I could have dealt with anyone THAT comprehensively crazy, but then again, I've done all kinds of inexplicable things for sex. Who hasn't??
I still hope to record this properly, but it's all about the feel at this point. This version is ridiculously sterile to me, but then again, Michael Gregory's guitar work is fantastic, so...worth putting out there, I think.
